I am a mom, chicken aficionado, and former elementary school librarian who just wrote her first children’s book!

What is it about? Well… chickens of course!

But I can guarantee you have never seen a book quite like this one.

Illustrated with photographs of baby chicks and ducklings in handmade miniature scenes, this unique story is sure to intrigue readers (and chicken enthusiasts) of all ages.

Chicken Chores is a rhythmic picture book about two young chicks reluctant to do household chores. Their mother, Momma Hen, encourages them as they complete the tasks while hinting at a fun and splashy surprise ending.

This book was created by placing baby chicks and ducklings into handmade scenes in 1:12 scale and photographing them as they explored. Children are captivated by picture books with “real” pictures and will enjoy connecting to humorous scenarios they likely also encounter in their daily lives.
